EcoLogic's spray foam technology can be applied to thousands of construction projects, but the basic principle behind it all is the on-site mixing and dispersal. The foam is a urethane two component liquid system that is spray applied (like paint) using a blowing agent (propellant). The spray gun resembles a paint spray gun, except that there are three hoses, not one, leading into it. The person applying the foam agent is trained and certified, to assure that the foam is applied evenly and to the specified thickness.

Tanks and pumps to store and deliver the foam are housed on mobile platforms. For a small residential job, a small trailer may suffice. For larger jobs, EcoLogic has large trucks that can pump thousands of gallons of foam agent at the job site using two guns at once from a single truck.

Spray foam has proven to be an exceptional insulating agent. EcoLogic's spray foam insulation carries an R-6 insulation value, but the ability of the foam to provide a continuous air tight and water tight barrier is the main advantage it offers over more conventional insulation systems. It provides this insulative quality no matter what the shape or surface it is applied to. Areas that are difficult to insulate using batts often allow air gaps that seriously compromise the insulative qualities of these otherwise excellent materials. Foam eliminates these potential air leaks and greatly improves the overall insulation effectiveness. Energy savings are a major advantage of spray foam over conventional batt insulation. Heat energy savings of up to 50% can be expected with spray foam insulation.
